Tracking down possible Hugo parable

Does anyone know the source for the story, attributed to Hugo, about finding dead bees by his window, and one live drone, desperately trying to escape, but keeps throwing itself against the window pane without success.

I failed to notice anyone had posted here until I posted today. The only other place I found that story was here: http://www.heraldmag.org/olb/contents/devotions/TwiceFrey.html

I don't know where it comes from, but I'd never read it before.
