On July 23 - 2 weeks and 2 days - Les Miserables the US National Tour will have its final performance. And I will be there. I find it difficult to believe they picked my hometown of St. Louis, MO for the honor....though maybe it's due to our French heritage.

I first saw the musical back in '88 on Broadway. It's going to be revived on Broadway in a few months (which is why the tour is ending.) I'd love to see it on Broadway again, but that is unlikely.

I saw the tour when it came to Cincinnati in April, and it was probably the best show I'd ever seen. If I didn't have so many other books I want to read, I would read Les Miserables again in a heartbeat right now.

I should probably drive out there, being that I'm not that far and should "visit relatives" in St. Louis. It's probably sold out already anyway.

It doesn't say sold out on the MetroTix site. Here's a direct link (http://ev6.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=LESMIS&linkID=metro) to the Les Mis page. There's a Sunday matinee which could have more available seats, and there are shows the entire week up to it. Sunday night is just the very last show.

I guess there are tickets. But with my current finincial..circumstance (studying abroad is not good for savings) I might have to chose between that and the Flaming Lips.
