I recently joined this community, and hope this post isn't terribly inappropriate, but...
If any of you have been to Victor Hugo Central (http://www.gavroche.org/vhugo), you know how much work I've put into finding translations of Hugo's work, and entering it by hand if necessary. I haven't seen any other sites attempting to do what I am doing. However, I am one person, and any assistance would be appreciated. And I'm willing to provide credit, and link to your journal/site in return.
I look primarily for public domain translations of his work (poetry, drama or prose), or public domain translations of articles/reviews on his life and work. (In the U.S. anything is public domain if it was published prior to 1923....after that, it may or may not be, depending.) If you know French, and have done some translating on your own, and would give permission for me to include it on the site, that is definitely welcome as well. The more of Hugo's work that is available to the English-limited audience the better, in my opinion.
Anything can be sent to me at gavroche at gmail dot com.
Thanks, in advance.
